Starting this Tuesday, November 1, Cuba will grant tourist cards valid for 90 days, instead of the current 30 days. The announcement was made this Sunday on Twitter by the Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos Garcia Granda.

In his tweet, Mr. García Granda also explained that the visa will be "extendable once for the same period"In other words, tourists will be able to stay in Cuba for up to 180 days.
Until now, the tourist visa, which is compulsory, had a maximum duration of 30 days, which could be extended for a further month, provided that the change was managed one week before the card's expiry with theImmigration and Aliens Office. requiring in particular the postponement of the return flight and payment of the accommodation extension.
Just a few days ago, the Cuban government acknowledged that it would be impossible to achieve the tourism target it had set. Faced with the 2.4 million travellers it had insisted the island would receive in 2022, the year will end with 1.71 million travellers, according to the Minister of the Economy, Alejandro Gil Fernández.
