THE Qatar Ministry of the Interior has announced an extension of the validity of Hayya visas until February 24, 2024. The deadline for entering Qatar on this visa has also been extended to February 10, 2024.

In partnership with the Hayya platform, the Ministry of the Interior is seeking to offer visitors a better experience during their stay in Qatar. Extending the validity of Hayya visas is part of this strategy, and will enable holders of these visas to take full advantage of the events organized by the country in 2024, such as the Asian Cup 2023, which will be held from January 12 to February 10, 2024 for the 3rd time in Qatar.
Entry requirements and health insurance
In order to enter Qatar on a Hayya visa, or for an extended tourist stay, it is necessary to meet the requirements imposed by Qatar's Ministry of Public Health. One of these requirements is compulsory health insurance for visitors requiring a prior entry visa.
THE visitors eligible for tourist visas on arrival, such as European travelersare exempt to take out health insurance for a maximum stay of 30 days. However, if they wish to extend their stay beyond this period, they will need to take out a health insurance policy.
Only national insurance companies registered with the Ministry of Public Health and international insurance companies accredited by the Ministry can offer valid insurance policies for visitors to Qatar.
Once the insurance contract has been taken out, you can apply for Hayya Card on the official website of the Ministry of the Interior or via the Metrash2 (iOS And Android).
Health insurance prices
The cost of compulsory health insurance for visitors to Qatar is QAR 50 per month (50 €). Visitors can take out additional cover if they wish, for an additional premium determined by the insurance companies.
Qatar is therefore continuing to improve its tourism offering and access to sporting events, by putting in place appropriate measures to meet the expectations of foreign visitors.
