Cameroon recently announced a significant revision of long-stay visa fees, from โฌ153 to โฌ305. This decision is part of a series of changes to visa policies aimed at improving consular services and meeting the growing needs of international travelers. This article explores in detail the new visa modalities, the associated costs, and the implications for applicants.
New Long Stay Visa Fees
Background and rationale
Since July 12, 2024, Cameroon has introduced a new fee structure for issuing visas. This measure aims to maintain a high level of service quality and meet growing administrative requirements. Long-stay visa fees have thus been increased to cover operational costs and improve consular infrastructure.
Details of the new rates
Long-stay visa fees for Cameroon have been revised as follows:
Visa type | Length of stay | Validity | Delivery times | Consular fees |
---|---|---|---|---|
Long-stay visa | Up to 90 days | 6 months | 5 days maximum | 305โฌ |
These new rates apply to all eligible nationalities and are valid for multiple entries.
THE Long Stay Express Visa has been abolished.
Visa Application Procedure
Electronic Visa (e-Visa)
Since April 2023, Cameroon introduces an electronic visa system (e-Visa) to simplify and speed up the application process. Applicants can submit their documents online via the Cameroon Ministry's official portal. Once the application has been approved, an electronic visa is issued, enabling travelers to embark from any country.

To obtain a long-stay visa, applicants must provide the following documents:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from date of departure
- Legalized invitation to Cameroon or accommodation certificate
- Photocopy of airline ticket or flight reservation
- Photocopy of yellow fever vaccination certificate
- For children, a photocopy of the birth certificate, signed authorization from both parents, and photocopies of the parents' passports or identity cards.
