Indonesia's visa waiver regulations are governed by several laws and decrees. The Peraturan Presiden Nomor 95 Tahun 2024 replaces the previous 2016 decree, which was no longer in line with current legal and economic developments.
The decree was issued not only to simplify entry procedures for tourists, but also to reinforce national security and selectivity in the granting of visa exemptions, taking into account the principles of reciprocity and mutual benefit.
Visa Waiver Details
The visa waiver allows citizens of the countries concerned to enter Indonesia without a visa for a period of 30 days. However, this period is neither renewable nor convertible into another type of residence permit.
Visitors must enter through specific immigration checkpoints, determined by the Indonesian Minister for Legal Affairs and Human Rights.
