In addition to offering visas, Australia will also allocate funds for land protection in Tuvalu. This will increase the area of the country's capital by almost 6%. Australian authorities believe that people from Tuvalu (population almost 11,000) should have the opportunity to live, study and work elsewhere as climate change worsens.
