Belarus has decided to extend visa-free travel for citizens of 38 European countries until December 31, 2025. This measure, initially scheduled to expire at the end of 2024, allows nationals of the countries concerned to stay in Belarus visa-free for 30 consecutive days per entry, with a maximum of 90 days per calendar year.
President Alexander Lukashenko's decision was prompted by the popularity of the visa-free entry program, which has attracted over a million European visitors since its introduction in 2022. Travelers can enter the country through all international land and air checkpoints, provided they present a travel document valid for at least 90 days after their intended exit.
Among the countries benefiting from this exemption are Germany, France, the UK, Italy, and neighboring countries such as Lithuania, Latvia and Poland. This measure aims to promote tourism and facilitate trade between Belarus and European countries.
Electronic visas are available for nationalities that are not exempt or for travellers who will be staying in the country for more than 30 days: https://www.visamundi.co/blog/belarus-evisa/.
It is important to note that this exemption does not apply to holders of diplomatic, service or special passports. Travelers must also comply with entry requirements, including insurance and sufficient financial resources for their stay.
