The Cambodian government plans to launch the electronic arrival system, called e-ArrivalThe new Siem Reap-Angkor international airport is scheduled to open in 2024. This initiative aims to simplify customs and immigration procedures for international travellers, while reducing the use of paper.

At the inauguration of the new Siem Reap-Angkor international airport in 2023, Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Manet has announced a pilot project for the following year. This is the e-Arrival system, which should be operational by early 2024, and will gradually replace the current paper-based formalities.

This project is supported by the General Department of Immigration of Cambodia and aims to simplify customs and immigration procedures, while limiting the use of paper in favor of electronic technology, as Hun Manet stated:

"I'd like to inform you that Cambodia's General Immigration Department has prepared a new project related to e-Arrival to firstly facilitate the simplification of customs and immigration, and secondly, reduce the use of paper in favor of electronic technology."

The benefits of e-Arrival for international travellers

The electronic arrival system will offer several advantages for tourists and professionals wishing to travel to Cambodia. These include:
