The Jordanian government is continuing to develop its tourism sector, and also wishes to introduce an electronic visa. This was announced at the end of January for imminent implementation.
The nationalities eligible for visa on arrival will have to apply for an e-Visa via a mobile application, available for iPhone and Android phones. Europeans are part of itas announced by Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya.
Currently, the visa on arrival is available for stays of up to 1 or 2 months. According to the latest announcements, this e-Visa "should" be valid for up to 5 years.

Jordan has reported a "significant" increase in the number of arrivals, especially as Syrian refugees residing in Europe are now allowed to enter the Kingdom for one-month stays.
