The Kazakh government recently approved a visa waiver agreement with Vietnam, allowing citizens of both nations to travel visa-free between the two countries. This agreement aims to strengthen bilateral relations and encourage tourism, economic and cultural exchanges between Kazakhstan and Vietnam.. This measure took effect on June 13, 2023.
Visa exemption to promote tourism and economic exchanges
The agreement stipulates that Kazakhstan and VietnamAs long as they are in possession of a passport valid for at least 6 months, they will no longer require a visa. They will thus be able to enter, leave, transit and even stay temporarily in either Vietnam or Kazakhstan for one maximum 30 days from the date of entry. However, it is important to note that the duration of their stay must not exceed 90 days in any 3-month period.
If citizens of these two countries wish to extend their stay beyond these limits, they will have to comply with current regulations and apply for a visa.
Mutual benefits for both countries
The benefits of this agreement should be numerous, benefiting both Kazakhstan and Vietnam. On the other hand, Vietnam hopes to attract more Kazakh tourists and investors thanks to this measure, thus contributing to the country's economic and tourism development.
This agreement could also encourage academic and scientific exchanges between the two nations. Indeed, Kazakh and Vietnamese students and researchers will be able to travel more easily to the other country to take part in exchange programs, conferences or joint research projects.. This enhanced academic cooperation would help develop the skills and knowledge of students and researchers from both countries, while establishing lasting partnerships between Kazakh and Vietnamese academic and research institutions.
