Suspended on December 22 following the spread of the Omicron variant, the Test&Go program will be reintroduced in a few days' time. Vaccinated travellers will once again be exempt from strict quarantine on arrival in the country.
However, it is important to take into account the new measures decided by the Thai authorities, supported by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, which henceforth impose the compulsory reservation of 2 nights' hotel accommodation, on D+0 (1st night of arrival) and D+5 of entry into Thailandpending the results of the 2 RT-PCR tests carried out that day.
Travellers should take care to book their nights with hotels. SHA Extra+ or AQ certified and partners with nearby hospitals (the two establishments may be different from each other). On receipt of a negative result from the first test carried out on arrival, the traveler will be free to leave the hotel before undergoing a new test in a partner hotel or hospital on the fifth day of his or her stay, under the same conditions. Please note: it is not necessary to stay at the hotel between arrival and the fifth day in the event of negative results.
What's more, the Thai authorities are now granting access to travellers from all countries.Only 63 countries, including France, were initially eligible for the quarantine exemption before it was suspended last December.
Other programs, such as the Phuket and Samui SandBox, allow vaccinated travellers to circulate freely in a specific area (on the islands of Phuket and Samui in this case), before being able to continue travelling in the rest of the country, provided they have negative PCR tests.
Two new destinations have finally been added to the Sandbox programnamely Chonburi (Pattaya, Koh Sichang, Sattahip) and the island of Ko Changin the province of Trat.
