Saudi Arabia also has an e-visa for international travelers

As of September 27, 2019, there are two ways to travel to the largest country in the Middle East: visa on arrival and e-Visa. However, French tourists are strongly advised to obtain this precious sesame, the e-Visa, before they travel.

To obtain one, all you need to do is visit the official Saudi authorities website and be one of the 49 eligible countries. Four visa categories are available: Event, Family and Relatives, Leisure and Umrah. The e-visa is valid for one year, with multiple entries possible. The duration of each stay may not exceed 90 days, 180 days/year. A passport valid for 6 months at the time of arrival is required. The entire Saudi territory may be visited, with the exception of the cities of Mecca and Medina for non-Muslims.

For business or religious travel, it is necessary to apply directly to the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Paris for a standard visa.

Saudi Arabia bets everything on tourism

The peninsular country received a record number of visitors in 2019, with over 17.7 million tourists. This is an increase of over 40% on the previous year. The growth of tourism in Saudi Arabia is due to a number of factors, including the easing of visa restrictions, the opening of new tourist destinations and the development of tourism infrastructure.

The main source markets for tourists were India, Egypt, Iran, Egypt and Turkey, spending an average of $1,500 per stay.

The main tourist attractions in Saudi Arabia are the cities of Riyadh, JeddahMedina and Mecca. Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia and home to numerous museums, art galleries and historic monuments. Jeddah is Saudi Arabia's second-largest city, known for its Corniche beach, historic Al Balad district and Al Balad souk. Medina is Islam's second holiest city and the ultimate destination for Muslim pilgrims. Mecca is Islam's holiest city and the ultimate destination for Muslim pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia has great tourism potential, and the Saudi government is taking steps to develop the tourism sector. The government plans to invest $100 billion in tourism by 2030. The government is also planning to build new hotels, resorts and tourist attractions.
