Thailand had originally planned to introduce its Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system in December 2024. However, the Thai government recently announced a postponement of this implementation via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.
No new launch date
According to an official statement from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ETA launch date has been postponed."at a later date". Is this due to the severe flooding in the country? The extra time will allow the authorities to fine-tune the system and ensure a smooth transition for all concerned.
The deployment of ETA was to take place in 3 distinct phases between now and summer 2025, when ETA would become mandatory.
