This is one of the promises made by Turkey's main opposition party to Kemal Kilicdaroglu The aim is to enable Turks to travel within the Schengen area without a visa. At present, Turks have to apply for a long and tedious Schengen visa for every day they spend in Europe.
We'll come to power and win the presidency, and we'll make this country a free-breathing place within a year at the latest. In three months' time, every citizen will be able to travel to Europe without a visa.

Worry: no one knows how People's Republican Partyannounced as running neck-and-neck with incumbent President Erdogan in the May 14 presidential election, is planning to get Europe to accept this proposal, especially in such a short space of time. In 2016, as part of the efforts required of Turkey to once again accept its nationals in an irregular situation, Europe asked Turkey to respect 72 criteria in its visa liberalization processdivided into 5 categories: Document security, Migration management, Public order and security, Fundamental rights and Return of irregular migrants. Turkey is currently complying with 67 of the 72 points, but Germany has ruled out the possibility of the last 5 points being ".paid in 3 months". The country and Europe are currently negotiating an exchange of information on people guilty of serious crimes (including terrorism), outside the discussions on visas.
