Since February 14, 2024, Bali finally rolls out its new tourist tax aimed at foreign visitors. To facilitate payment, the authorities have developed the Love Bali and a dedicated mobile application. In this article, we explain how to complete this compulsory procedure, and which categories of travelers can benefit from an exemption.
Love Bali tax payment: simplified instructions
The tax Love Bali amounts to approximately 150,000 Indonesian rupiahs or approximately 8 € per person. Its aim is to preserve Balinese customs, traditions, arts and culture, as well as the wisdom of the local community. Funds raised are also used to improve waste management, develop infrastructure and safeguard the island's cultural heritage.

- Complete the form with your personal details (surname, first name, nationality, passport number, etc.).
- Choose your preferred payment method from the following options: VISA, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX, BCA, BPD Bali Channel, mobile bank transfers or Standard Indonesian QR code
- Make your payment by following the instructions
- Keep your payment receipt and the associated QR Code as proof of payment at Denpasar airport or Benoa port.
Note that this tax is due on each entry on Balinese territory and does not apply to other parts of Indonesia. Indonesian citizens and permanent residents are exempt from this tax.

Categories of travellers exempt from the Love Bali tax
