Cambodia and Thailand are working together to set up a joint visa scheme to encourage tourism between the two countries. The project also aims to include other Southeast Asian countries, to facilitate tourist travel within this dynamic region of cultural and natural riches.
Thailand is behind this long-running initiative, the aim of which is to to include Cambodia in its "single visa" planincluding 3 other Southeast Asian countries: the Vietnam๐ป๐ณ, THE Laos๐ฑ๐ฆ and the Malaisie๐ฒ๐พ. The project would enable tourists to obtain a visa or pass for one country, while being able to visit all 5 countries without additional red tape.
The introduction of visa compliance between these 5 ASEAN member countries (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) could also encourage the European Union to propose the abolition of visas for these countries.
