Schengen visas soon available to travellers in Bulgaria and Romania
Foreign nationals wishing to visit Bulgaria or Romania for short stays can apply for Schengen C visas. Easy access to airports and seaports
Thanks to the partial adoption of Schengen territory regulations, Bulgaria and Romania have abolished border controls at airports and seaports from March 2024.. This measure now allows hassle-free entry and exit for individuals and companies.
Land border controls still pending
The decision to lift land border controls is still under discussion, and should be definitively adopted later this year. This additional step will further strengthen free movement by air and sea.
