The Thai authorities in France have announced new arrangements to simplify visa formalities for French nationals.
In view of Thailand's growing popularity as a tourist destination, the countries concerned are keen to ease the administrative burden in order to welcome even more travelers and support the tourism industry as effectively as possible.
What are the main changes to the process?
The main changes concern 60-day tourist visas (TR), 90-day O visas for people over 50, and one-year OA visas for the same age group.
- Tourist visa (TR) for 60 days :
Proof of financial solvency no longer required. Previously, bank documents were required to prove that the applicant had sufficient financial resources. - 90-day O visa for people over 50 :
No need to provide a reservation for accommodationYou'll also need to provide proof of identity, such as a private invitation or hotel confirmation, to obtain this type of visa. - One-year OA visa for people over 50:
Criminal records no longer checked and is therefore no longer required to apply for this visa.
Processing times remain long
