From February 1, 2024, the United Arab Emirates will no longer require entry visas for nationals of the Republic of Armenia. The two delegations met in mid-January in Armenia, as both are major economic partners.
Reciprocal elimination of visas between major partners
According to Ani BadalyanAccording to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, the agreement on the reciprocal elimination of visa requirements for citizens of the Republic of Armenia and the United Arab Emirates will come into force on February 1, 2024. Travelers simply need to take into account the validity period indicated on pages 2 and 3 of their passport; the note concerning validity in foreign countries on the fourth page is no longer applicable and is not mandatory as of January 1, 2024.
In a nutshell
- Armenian citizens will be able to enter, leave and transit the UAE without needing an entry visa or paying any associated fees.
- The maximum length of stay in the UAE for Armenians will be 90 days over a 180-day period.
- The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
The decision is reciprocal and will allow Emirati nationals to travel to Armenia under the same visa-free conditions (90 days out of a maximum of 180 days per calendar year).
Sisian Boghossian, head of Armenia's Tourism Committee, was enthusiastic about the announcement. and hopes that other countries will follow suit, opening up more opportunities for tourism.
