Burundi unveils its electronic entry visa

Burundi has recently launched its brand new electronic visa to facilitate travel for tourists and professionals. This document is used to submit the visa application, which will be finalized on arrival in Burundi.

The process is very simple: travellers simply visit the Direction Gรฉnรฉrale des Migrations (CGM) and complete the Burundi entry application form.

An example for other small African countries to follow

Burundi is not the only country in Africa to offer an electronic visa (Ivory Coast, Cameroonetc). Many of the continent's nations are also looking to simplify administrative procedures to facilitate tourist entry and support their local economies. Kenya, for example, has abolished visas and replaced them with electronic travel authorizations..

However, the example of Burundi is particularly interesting as it shows that even small countries can innovate and move towards a sustainable and responsible development approach.
