Vietnam recently introduced a 10-year, renewable golden visa for attract long-term tourists, investors and foreign professionals. This long-term residency program is designed for people who contribute to the tourism sector, innovation or the Vietnamese economywith the aim of strengthening cultural and economic ties, particularly with Indian nationals.

Digitizing visa procedures
As part of this initiative, Vietnam has also simplified visa procedures for tourist stays and short-term business trips. The process is now more digitized, eliminating the need to go to the embassy to complete the formalities.
Focus on the different types of long-term visas
With this initiative, the Vietnamese authorities aim to attract investment in key economic and tourism sectors. Three categories of visas are available :
- The golden visavalid for 5 to 10 years and renewable.
- Investor visaThis 10-year permit gives access to permanent residency after 5 years.
- The Talent Visafor highly qualified professionals in high-growth sectors, valid for 5 years with a simplified renewal procedure.
Applications can be made entirely online, with no need for an embassy appointment.
Affordable, dynamic living
In addition to economic opportunities, the country offers a lifestyle that combines tradition and modernity. Cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang are renowned for their safety and affordable cost of living. Foreigners wishing to settle in Vietnam benefit from a wide choice of international schools, hospitals and accommodation.
Boosting tourism
On the tourism front, Vietnam welcomed over 7.67 million foreign visitors in the first four months of the year, up 23.8 % on the previous year, according to data from the Vietnam National Tourism Authority. The majority of visitors came from China (1.95 million), followed by South Korea (1.58 million), Taiwan (440,000) and the USA (323,000). Japan, Cambodia, Australia, India, Malaysia and Thailand were also among the top ten outbound markets.
European markets continued to grow, supported by Vietnam's visa-free policy. The UK recorded a 20.7 % increase in visitor numbers, France 24.7 %, Germany 18.8 %, Italy 32.6 %, Spain 12.9 %, Denmark 12.7 %, Sweden 16.3 % and Norway 11.5 %.
To sustain this momentum, the Vietnam National Tourism Authority plans to launch seven promotional campaigns, with the ambition of attracting between 22 and 23 million international visitors this year
